I am a Patrol Officer with the Sioux Falls Police Department. I have been raising German Shepherds for 14 years, and specifically training them in Search & Rescue for 10 years. I was Co-Commander/Training Director of Minnehaha County K9 Search and Rescue, but recently retired that position so I can broaden my horizons. I'd like to start training in Schutzhund and agility.
Before relocating to S.D. for less heat and more wide-open spaces, I was the Training Officer for the Maricopa County (Phoenix, AZ)
K-9 Search and Rescue team.
In addition to breeding and training my own GSD's, I also foster dogs for the local shelter. I firmly believe in breeding quality dogs, but I also believe in helping every dog find a quality home. Whenever time and space are available, I take in anything from a temperamental/shy dog to an abused animal to an entire litter. With training and good experiences, rescue dogs can find good homes for a lifetime.
I spend a great deal of time each day with each dog ensuring they get daily love and stimulation. Each dog is trained daily; whether it be obedience, search and rescue, or agility. The facility is equipped with very large outdoor/indoor dog runs. Each area is compiled of lush grassy landscape with connecting access to a barn through a doggie door.
My dogs are also fed premium dog food: Taste of the Wild and Natural Balance, both grain free foods.
I am also a member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America.
